Specialization of your givve® Card

You can see whether your card is specialized in the givve® Card App or in the givve® Card Portal on the dashboard on your card information under card usage or in the settings. Changes can only be made by the employer. If no information about card usage is displayed here, you can continue to use your card as usual. In the case of a specialization, your givve® Card can only be used within the selected category group. The following groups of retailer categories are currently available (we are already working on more):

Why can the employer specialize the card to a group of merchant categories?

• In order to be prepared now for future tax law requirements for the granting of benefits in kind, the givve® Card can be optimized for use in a "very limited range of goods or services".

Where can I use my card?

• Depending on the selected group of merchant categories, you can use your card at merchants in the respective area.
• You can find the possible groups here. 
• We are already working on providing more group of merchant categories.

Which merchants belong to which category?

Here are some examples of merchants in each category: 

• Goods and services for daily needs (supermarkets, bakeries, drugstores, pharmacies, etc.):
  Rewe, Lidl, Aldi, Edeka, pharmacies, dm, Müller, Rossmann, Penny,...
   
• Fashion (shoe and clothing stores as well as online stores):
  H&M, Zara, Esprit, Görtz, AboutYou, Zalando, s.Oliver,...
   
• Food and beverage (restaurants, bakeries, snack bars, fast food restaurants etc.):
  Vapiano, McDonalds, Dean & David, Kamps, Yormas, Hans im Glück, my Indigo, L'Osteria....

Can I also specialize my card myself into my personal desired category?

• At the moment, this is not yet possible.
• In the medium term, however, we will create an option that will allow cardholders to select the respective group of merchant categories for the area of use of their card themselves. 

Is it possible to change a selected group of merchant categories?

• At the moment, this is not yet possible.
• We currently do not know under what legal conditions it will be possible to change a group of merchant categories. As soon as we know, we will provide you with a simple technical possibility under the given conditions.
